My dress was very special to me. My older sister bought me the dress before we eloped. I saved my dress for 5 years before wearing it. During this time I had a child. I had to work very hard to lose the baby weight to be able to fit in it again. It was well worth it because I loved my dress when we bought it, and I loved it when I wore it 5 years later, and I still love it and would wear it again!! I was inspired by two things. One is my lack of love for flowers, I didn't want any flowers at my wedding. Secondly I was inspired by the 50s. I LOVE the 50s it's my favorite era. I wanted to combine all these elements with it still being very elegant. Overall you could call my theme "A flowerless 50s inspired black and white wedding." I spend 5 years planning and coming up with concept. Overall I spent about 3.5 months DIY-ing everything. I did almost everything myself, including the bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces, ceremony decor, favors, tags, invitations, centerpieces, and many other small details. Each one of my bridesmaids bought their own dresses. I simply told them to get a black dress and a white cover up with a 50s feel. They did a wonderful job because I loved their dresses. We had some struggles but in the end everything was perfect. The most important thing is that we got married and our marriage was blessed by God.
Thanks to Yenni, Salem, and Cindy from Beautimous Photography for your reflections!
