One of the most important parts of the reception is the food...and crying over your emotional ceremony definitely works up an appetite! Unfortunately, some guests had to go through starvation while the newlyweds went through their long list of photo-ops to recreate. Well lovelies, the French geniuses have done it again. From the creators of the empire waist, Chanel and the word "Moi" comes a little appetizer to cute to resist! Introducing: hors d'oeuvres! The petite and dainty meals to satisfy the hunger pangs of your guests! But these little meals have emerged from the borders of the French cuisine. These sliders and a backyard wedding are a match made in heaven! Adorable French toast sticks! Mini vegetable pies! Fresh and delicious. Savory desserts as hors d'oeuvres?! Too cute! Mini hot dogs! Things should start and end with prayer. It allows us to connect with God, tell him what's on our mind, and find out what's on His. I was elated to see this picture on Pinterest. It encapsulates that a husband an wife should come to God in prayer to bind their marriage together because once God binds your marriage together, nothing can pull it apart. That's a wrap lovelies!
-C. This wedding holds a special place in my heart...because my good friend Karmela was the beautiful bride. I never met Karmela's fiance-- until the wedding! I can't tell you how many memories this wedding has given me. From creating centerpieces until 1:00 AM, to the dainty details and crafty helpers who pitched in, the day turned out to be a wonderful event that everyone enjoyed. Even I was about to shed some happy tears! How long did it take to plan your day? My fiancé (then) and I started planning in 2011, so I would say almost a year. What were you looking for in your wedding dress? How did you know which was the one? I wanted my wedding dress to be very special, modest, elegant, but simple. I wanted a wedding dress that will “wow” my groom. I wanted to mix the traditional cathedral length vail and gloves with a princess-look dress, and I particularly liked anything with lace. I tried 5-6 dresses in different stores, but I found the one which I thought reflected my personality. I knew it was the right dress when I fit it. The top of the dress was very simple, but the detail on the bottom gave it a nice flare. Then I purchased a flower with the same ivory color to add on the waist. What was your color scheme? My husband liked purple, and we combined it with some silver. It was very timely because we got married on Thanksgiving weekend. Who put your wedding together? Of course my husband and I did, but there were a lot of church family and relatives who helped. Kelvin's (then fiance) pastor helped us organize the ceremony. My mom mainly helped with the food. The ladies in the church helped in the kitchen, serving and decorating. My cousin was our main photographer. The Gargollos (church family) sponsored us the cake. My aunt took care of all the decorations and flowers. My sister’s soon-to-be boyfriend then was our main driver. Sis. Thea (church family) did my hair. Our pastor was the officiant. Everybody helped us put the wedding together. Any other reflections on your wedding day? We may not have the most extravagant wedding, but I felt that the angels and God was there to witness our most special day. When I entered the church and walked down the aisle, I felt like a real princess and my dream finally came true. Everybody was smiling and looking at me. The love of my life was waiting for me at the altar. Everything just fell into place, and it was joy unspeakable. It might be a very tedious preparation, and though we experienced the biggest storm in our lives before our wedding, when I said “I do” on that very moment, it was all worth it…It was all worth the wait. Modest bridesmaids! Love! Love this shot. Thanks Karmela for sharing your big day with us!

After all this blog is about being "Modestly Wed," and not dressing like a woman is definitely not modest! Back to ruffles: some of these gorgeous gowns are sure to make you swoon (whether girly or not). This gown is just breath-taking. This lovely gown was created by Melissa Blackburn. She designs custom wedding gowns. Would you believe me if I told you that this beauty below was from the Marchesa Spring 2015 Collection? The best for last... That's a wrap lovelies!
-C. I'm elated about today's Friday Fun-day! The reception is where most of the wedding budget goes toward, which is very obvious. It's all about allowing your guests to enjoy the day. Now on to place cards. They are a super cute way to make your guests feel special and help them find their seats. These apples are perfect for fall and make a good snack as the guests wait for the bride and groom to stop taking pictures. :) Wood cookies! (That's what I call them at home) Perfect for a rustic or outdoor wedding. These place cards just speak "beach wedding"! Cute right? These DIYs are so easy and fun! They bring a little extra spice to your big day! Gorgeous details and a gorgeous bride go hand in hand.
That's a wrap lovelies! -C. Welcome to our first edition of "Through the Lens" Thursday! Today we'll be looking at photo ideas that are so steal-worthy, you'll want to recreate them too! Today's inspiration is a photo of the bride and flower girl. This idea is a great gift as a thank you to the flower girl for being adorable throughout the wedding! Matching modest dresses making it even more adorable. This twosome have veils! Too cute! When you think about it, it must be hard to be a flower girl! You must walk and sprinkle petals simultaneously, maintain a Pinterest-worthy smile, and not trip over your dress :) There may be malfunctions: But when it's all said and done, a wedding just isn't a wedding without the flower girl.
